MY CURIOSITY IS YOUR ASSET

From the day I began my first paper route as a young man, journalism has been my lifelong love. As reporter, editor and publisher of my own weekly newspapers, I was always asking questions. How does this work? Where does this go? Why is this happening? My op-ed columns have appeared in metro newspapers throughout North America and my editorials received top honors from the Society of Professional Journalists.

Writers are taught to include the telling details to sharpen their stories. That skill is especially important when dealing with real estate. How new are the windows and roof? Why has the strata fee remained level for years? Has necessary maintenance been deferred? Asking the right questions gets you the answers you need to make good decisions, whether you’re buying or selling. Identifying and dealing with root causes early is the best way to move forward confidently.

ACE NEGOTIATOR

I help my clients win by identifying clearly their underlying goals for buying or selling, then diligently directing the process from start to finish, so they can move smoothly toward their happy ending: a successful contract. To support that effort, I have taken the time to earn the Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE) professional designation, which focuses on the most effective ways to sort out the competing objectives of the parties involved in a transaction. As a former newspaper owner and operator, I gained valuable experience in honing techniques for handling a wide range of personalities and situations…and can relate well to any small business owner facing the challenges of meeting a payroll.

I’m particularly attuned to the needs of those needing to downsize, having represented clients in both multi-million dollar transactions and small condo purchases. Earning the Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation has been especially helpful in that regard.
