About Carl Chen

Persistent and tenacious, Carl is committed to finding the right approach for every real estate transaction. Working alongside Macdonald Commercial’s team of sales and leasing professionals, he brings a multi-disciplinary skill set to each deal.

Before transitioning to commercial real estate, Carl spent five years in the financial services industry as a Financial Advisor, helping clients achieve their investment objectives. After discovering his true passion for real estate investment and development, he pursued and obtained his trading services license through the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia—and hasn’t looked back since.

Carl has extensive experience in appraising, marketing, and negotiating sites throughout Vancouver’s Lower Mainland. Tech-savvy and forward-thinking, he is also highly skilled in working with large data sets and building real estate financial models.

A passionate traveler, Carl embarked on a year-long, around-the-world journey in 2010 with his then-wife. One of the most memorable highlights of his adventure was a 7,000-kilometer hitchhiking journey across Turkey, Iraq, and Iran. When he’s not in the office, you’ll often find Carl cycling through the Lower Mainland or exploring his interest in classical music and opera.
